AB We used a mathematical model to evaluate the impact of mass testing in the control of SARS-CoV-2. Conditions required to control a quickly growing epidemic with mass testing appear impossible to achieve. Mass testing should therefore not be seen as a silver bullet that will ensure other control measures can be removed.
