ABSTRACT
White Americans make more office-based and emergency department visits per capita than other races/ethnicities, but the proportion of visits during which antibiotics are administered or prescribed is similar across races/ethnicities. Racial/ethnic disparities in antibiotic use may be due more to disparities in healthcare access and utilization than to prescriber behavior.
